HDX-1000 Networked Media Tank

HDX-1000 Networked Media Tank

I have a HDX-1000; a Networked Media Tank.  A kind of dedicated audio/video-player with harddisk and capable of playing about anything you throw at it (matroska, DVD-iso’s, DIVX, XVid’s, mpg’s) in Full HD (1080P).  Absolutely a toy to recommend if you’re into HD-video. If you’re looking for one I can strongly recommend buying one at DivxPlayer.nl , their service is absolutely superb.

Anyway; the HDX-1000 is also capable of displaying (simple) websites, aka. webservices (in fact; the GUI is HTML-based), and it’s very good at playing Shoutcast-streams. But; there were no webservices for browsing through the Shoutcast-directory.  Ok; there’s a top10 shoutcast station-list, but with over 50000 stations this does not even scratch the surface. So.. i gave up a sundaymorning and started hammering away on a Shoutcast-directory Browser for NMT’s.

Fortunately Shoutcast has a very nice API to request all kinds of information, and it returns XML, which I became quite an expert on the last 10 years. Because I didn’t want to put a heavy load on Shoutcast’s servers by requesting data on each visit, and to keep my directory-browser at blazing speed i’ve written a sync-script which pulls all categories and stations from the Shoutcast-API and dump them into a database.  The script runs every 2 days (if I don’t forget it:)) and refreshes the stationlist in my database.

If you have a NMT-player; check out http://hdx.i-v-o.nl (the stations will only play when started from a NMT, not from your browser)

Hi, just started using NMT shoutcast on my Popcornhour and it works a treat, was just wondering if its possible to link directly to my favorite channel list rather than the Genre directory?
or even better, i’d like to link to my favourite channels list direct from my GUI index file which is in my popcornhour root. i use Kdoske gui, not sure if your aware of it but it allows you to link to html files on the NMT or to the MSP or to direct MSP locations such as youtube.
If it is possible, would you know the link i’d need to enter to go direct to my favourite channels list?

    Thanks for your help.

OK, i managed to get my kdoske gui to link to the directory of nmt shoutcast using the same link i created the web service with which is
    http://hdx.i-v-o.nl/1025
can that be changed to go to personal channels?

    thanks in advance.

It’s not possible (yet) to link directly to your favorites list. You need to go to your id-page (hdx.i-v-o.nl/1025 in your case) to set a cookie on your NMT. I’m not really sure about this but since it’s a cookie with ‘unlimited’ lifetime it should be possible to link directly to the favorites-page (http://hdx.i-v-o.nl/favo.php) if you have visited your ID-page once before. But I’m not sure if your NMT stores the cookie after it has rebooted or when it has been in suspend-mode.

If this doesn’t work i’ll be happy to add the feature, it’s not that complicated and you would be able to link to hdx.i-v-o.nl/1025/favo.php to set the cookie and go to the favorites page at once. Let me know if this feature is needed.

Thanks for fast reply, I believe the PCH deletes the cookies after a hard reboot.
It would be a nice feature that i personally would use however if im the only person that has shown interest then then it obviously wouldn’t be worth doing, i only discovered NMT Shoutcast today but on the NMT forums (mostly PCH users)there are a number of people asking about ways of saving URL’s of their favourite stations so i will make them aware of NMT Shoutcast and there may be others who would like the feature.

    Thanks shane.

I’ll try to look into it this weekend, I actually would like this feature myself ;)

I’ve added the feature. If you’d like to go to your favorites directly use the following URL:
    http://hdx.i-v-o.nl/your userID]/favo.php
Replace [your userID] with the number you’ve created before on http://hdx.i-v-o.nl/uid.php

You can also use http://hdx.i-v-o.nl/your userID]/pfavo.php to go to you personal channels directly.

If you have a popcorn hour / HDX-1000 (or alike) you can add these URL’s to “webservices” to get to your favorite Shoutcast stream quickly.
